“Study in Ukraine” strives to help support the students that truly deserve it. If you work hard and apply yourself, you may have the opportunity to acquire one of the many annual scholarships that “Study in Ukraine” gives away each year. This year alone, 40 students just like you received $1,000 scholarships. The number of actual scholarships can vary from year to year and the competition for them is strong. They are not simply given away; they must be earned. Typically, students that actually live in the Ukraine do not use scholarships and finance their stay on their own.

As for the actual scholarships that are available to you, there are several options. The scholarships that are available to international students wanting to apply to the English-language programs are typically for the students 2nd-6th courses. What is a scholarship? If you are unfamiliar with what this award is, it is actually quite simple. Scholarships are financial aid rewards that help students further their education and cover the expenses of learning. The scholarships can awarded for various reasons, such as academic excellence or athletic achievements. Typically, the award criteria reflect the values of the donor or the founder. One of the best things about scholarships is that the money does not need to be repaid. It is simply a gift that allows you to further your education without the hassle of debt.

Types of Scholarships

Merit-based: (10 Scholarships) These awards are based on a student’s academic, artistic, athletic or other abilities, and often factor in an applicant’s extracurricular activities and community service record. The most common merit-based scholarships, awarded by private organizations, recognize academic achievement or high scores on standardized tests.

Athletic: (10 scholarships) Awarded to students for showing exceptional skill in a sport provided by the college.

Career-specific: (10 Scholarships) These scholarships are given to students who plan to pursue a specific field of study. Often, the most generous awards are handed out to students who pursue careers in high-need areas, such as education or nursing.

College-specific: (80 scholarships) College-specific scholarships are offered to highly qualified applicants. These scholarships, given on the basis of academic and personal achievement, usually result in either a full-ride to the college, or for a reduced rate of tuition.

Partial-Scholarship (2000 scholarships), for qualified applicants, obtain a discount rate of 20% for international students from the following countries of: Zambia, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Egypt, Morocco, Ethiopia, Ghana, Cameroon, China, Hong Kong, Macau, Mongolia, Taiwan, Brunei, Cambodia, East Timor, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Papa New Guinea, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Algeria, Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Congo-Brazzaville, Congo-Kinshasa, Cote d’Ivoire, Djibouti, and all other African countries.
